March 30: Meeting 7PM Library

The boys will be earning the Music Belt Loop - Come prepared to sing!

We have the outline for the Wolf track for next year if you are interested in taking a peek. This will ensure that the boys will be ready to receive their Wolf Badge at the Blue and Gold banquet next year. See it took us a year to get the swing of things, but we are ready to roll now!

See you on Tuesday at the Library.

Travel Belt Loop

I just saw on the Scout site that you can earn a new belt loop for "Family Travel". I know folks are stating to make some Spring travel plans so this could be an easy one to achieve:

Belt Loop Requirements

Complete these three requirements:

  1. Make a list of things you would take on a threeday trip with your family, then pack these items in a bag or suitcase.
  2. With an adult’s help, figure out the cost and miles to complete a trip to a place of interest using the family car or public transportation.
  3. Research at least five places to visit during a trip to a place of interest. Explain what you learned to your family.
Here is the link to the New Belt Loop Requirements.

Captial Visitor Center

We are all set for March 13th and the tour starts at 10:40. Please arrive at 10 to ensure enough time for security and getting into the line. Union Station and Capital South metro stops are recommended per the Capital FAQ. The tour will begin with a 13 minute film and then we will start the walking tour which they state in the letter is an hour, but it might be a little shorter. Of course there is a restaurant, Exhibition Hall and Gift Shop.

Security information should definitely be reviewed because they are very strict and will not allow anything on the exclusion list to enter the Capital and they will not hold items for you (aka they will pitch them) http://visitthecapitol.gov/Visit/U.S.%20Capitol%20Visitor%20Guide.pdf. Please check your purses (:
